Gordon Brown announces resignation

Gordon Brown has this evening announced he is stepping down as Labour leader.
Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, Mr Brown, who has been Prime Minister since June 2007 after the resignation of Tony Blair, said he intended to stand down as Labour leader “in the national interest”.

Watford FC on the brink of administration

Shares in Watford Football Club have been suspended after its parent company, Watford Leisure, warned it may enter administration.
